Well my new DELL crashed and burned, I am waiting on my son to bring a new hard drive. I will start it on Ubuntu, tired of this Windows7. I am writing this on an old HP with WindowsXP. It has some bad sectors but hobbles on. Comcast dropped Xfinity security suite on me and sure clogged things up. After removing that and cleaning up with a freebie this old girl is plodding on. I sure have been thinking about a new Mac, we will mull that for a while.
Right now I am working to understand this blog, Linking and such. If you fall in here give me a shout.

CAT 530 Triplex Repair

Many CAT 530 Triplex pumps are trashed because of seal leaks. The seal seating surface washes out and repair is hard and costly. Here is a simple fix for High Pressure Seal seating surface. Wrap the new seal with six turns of Teflon tape and install as you normally do. Presto, no seal leak. The Teflon will seal the outside lip and the bottom of the seal, the inside lip will still seal just fine on the Ceramic plunger. Now the Check Valves. Throw away the "o" Rings and the Backup (Teflon) Rings. Install one size 019 Teflon "O" Ring on the valve so that it will fit between the valve flange and the valve flange seating area. Use new Nylon valve cages and when install the valve cap it will crush the new "o" ring between the seating area and the valve flange. Presto! no more leaks. Cost of repair, less than 10 bucks, now you have a fine $800 pump ready to go.

Comments from the Third Coast

There are so many voices today, conflicting voices, on Social Security. How is a poor soul to know who to trust. It seems that every expert has two things to say, "Bush's plan won't work, here is one that will". Well, all seem to agree that there is a big problem down the road, just where down the road is open for debate. Seems to me the Pols are even less trustworthy of late, the Pundits, writers and Experts are not far behind and the National Debt keeps rising, Bush wants to keep cutting taxes, Congress wants to spend more. Seems to me that we need a little clarity, candor and strong budgets. I have to live within my means why not the Government? All this huge expense to stop terrorist yet our border are still wide open. Here in Harris county 26% of the charity hospitals work load are out of county or out of the US types. Why doesn't the Immigration Service wait at the exit door, sweep these now well doctored illegals into a waiting bus bound for the border. It is the law, why not enforce it! To hell with the businesses that want the illegals for cheap labor. I run a small business and do well using good old American help. We have so many laws that are simply being ignored, to our own peril.
